Re: Teleport

Low-cost carrier AirAsia is looking to expand its air logistics operation in Southeast Asia, with the Philippines seen as a “very big operation.” To fuel this, the group’s logistics arm, Teleport, plans to add up to 10 freighter aircraft.

Tony Fernandes emphasized the Philippines’ role as a major market for Teleport in Southeast Asia.

“Philippines is where we see Teleport to be a very big operation. Obviously, AirAsia Philippines is doing most of Teleport’s work right now through belly space. But in the not-too-distant future, the ten aircraft that we’re talking about, some will be destined for the Philippines"

Teleport CEO Pete Chareonwongsak also added that the Philippines is “very, very important,” given that the logistic provider’s top route by volume in Southeast Asia is in the Philippines: Davao to Manila.

Re: Cebu Pacific

In an interview with The STAR, Cebu Pacific president and chief commercial officer Xander Lao said the airline was supposed to open new connections to Saudi Arabia and Vietnam this year.

However, Cebu Pacific had to postpone those plans with the shortage in aircraft parts, especially jet engines, hounding its day-to-day operations. In spite of this, the airline is keeping its doors open to adding Saudi Arabia to its flight network.

“The increase in destinations in Vietnam is certainly there, but we have to hold off given the fleet availability issues we have. Saudi Arabia is being studied as well,” Lao said.

“We are looking at Saudi Arabia, but we have not decided yet. Certainly not this year, but would it be in 2024, we will see. We are really studying (that destination),” he added.

I wonder what time slot are they able to obtain. Previously arianespace mentioned they wanted the lunch time departure ex-MNL but slots are already taken.

Can we see the PR-AA partnership proceeding already via HNL?

It was mentioned already. UA took the timeslot. They had no other choice.

SFO- MNL 1230am - 630am
MNL-SFO 955am - 720am

Thanks. Obviously I didn’t bother to open the link posted above. Thanks for this! Hoping PR-AA partnership pushes through this time via HNL and when new wb arrives, they can enter SEA or ORD without UA blocking it.

I think the schedule is not so bad.

It arrives MNL early morning with plenty of time to connect to domestic or SEA cities.  The return trip is the same--arrives early in the USA, again, plenty of time to connect to other cities.

I wonder what PAL has up its sleeves. After that feud, it seems like UA is bent on beating PAL in that sector. Lets see how PAL will respond.

PAL STATEMENT
