Found a link to ACA Website beside MNL they also have coordination with Port Morseby, Papua New Gunia and Shannon Airport, Ireland. According to their site! https://www.airportcoordination.org/ |

Looks like no Seattle for PAL, no SFO-MNL for United🤣
|
Doubt they could even start SEA due to the lacked of wide-body aircraft. Also are there any info on short-term lease of B77W? So far only thing that has been confirmed is one 777 will leave this year which will be followed by one more in 2025 along with the A330 though I'm unsure if it will follow the same sequence. As for United its intresting seeing them attempt direct flights between SFO-MNL both in 2022 and 2023. But is rejected due to the rules set up by ACA. I wonder if third time will be charm? It would be beneficial to the consumer if UA opens MNL rather then connecting through their parthner hubs |

The They can totally get around this by either making a tag or triangle route via Cebu, just like TK |

Unfortunately, they can't because of wave of domestic arrival bank in the morning. Slots after 8am is full.
The real remedy for them is really to fly off-peak, which they are not prepared to do.

I've heard that TK will be turning CEB to seasonal from year-round while maintaining daily service in MNL using the A350-900. |

Stockholders of Philippine Airlines are scheduled to meet on May 25
Any major news after the meeting?? |
Marcos Jr is slated to visit the White House and bilateral meeting with US Pres. Biden on May 1
Will PAL and Boeing finally announce the deal? So the meeting will not just look like they talked about ongoing geographical issues in Asia which can anger our neighbor |
Maybe either Boeing or PAL would used the opportunity for a new aircraft order considering their week position in the Philippine Market. |
I highlight recommended giving it a watch very informative and also explains PAL difficulty from the small fleet to the Constrains of NAIA. Also a higlight was how they handel flight delays due to one of the two A350-900 having issues makes me wonder if management was kind of regretful letting LH take most of their A350-900 I personally think they should keep three. But that is just my opinon!

Nice handling of flight cancellations
The move of intl flight to Terminal 1 and new lounge will improve the experience of passengers before the end of the year. But for the fleet we need to wait for the new planes to come in, PAL should put universal power outlets in their long haul planes tho. |

In relation to the US visit Department of Tourism wants more flights to US
https://simpleflying.com/philippines-more-flights-united-states/ They should help PAL to achieve this |

Assuming PAL those make an announcement this year (Though its likely to happend next year!), the long que for the B787 will mean they won't arrived until either 2025 the earliest or 2026 which will depend if the industry can sort out the supply issue crippling aircraft manufacturing, also the timeline for the A350-1000 joining the fleet is entering service by 2027! Along with the 4 A350-900 rejoining in 2028 could mean PAL will have 12 A350s (6 -900 & 6 -1000), along with the 6 B787-9 for 18 aircraft which will be enough to cover most of PAL existing network, although I also expect some A330-300 and B777-300ER will also hold on too. Yeah I prefer universal power outlets be added on Economy at less 2 per 3 seats, also I won't mind the seat pitch in economy be reduced considering most will value price. But I do hope they will maintain 32" for Y which is the same with CX and SQ which are PAL main rivals! |

Former SGV senior partner Ramon D. Dizon has been nominated as PAL’s ninth board member for its annual election on May 25.

The global network of tourism professionals, SKAL International Makati inaugurates Philippine Airlines (PAL) President and COO Capt. Stanley Ng as its new member of the board. The pronouncement was made during a general membership meeting and fellowship of the board at PAL Inflight Center in Pasay City.

PAL official admits that the airline is feeling the pain of having not enough planes to fly and having ageing jets. The rest of their fleet apparently is on the ground unable to fly and not earning money for them. A member of the board was not happy with it. Apparently too, special flights (ah yes the ones with the 5xxx) to which they have plenty nowadays are costing them a lot of money, in millions of $. And while they have the money for repairs, the parts don't come as fast as they would want to. It is eating their revenue alive.
We've heard this story from Capt. Stan last March. But Stan didn't mentioned the bleeding part on the grounded planes. So I guess that is the price you pay for having old planes. You can afford to do that only when you have plenty of planes to spare, to which PAL had none nowadays. Indeed, the number of 5xxx flights have grown exponentially.

PAL Express also has the same problem with their Q400s
Costly planes during maintenance, this is where my source said the problem of PAL is in their fleet and maintenance. They have a lot of old planes that is costing them a lot to maintain and run. I hope this situation can make them more determined to replace old planes immediately, it will give them better financial results soon like Cebu Pacific when they replaced their CEOs with NEOs. Aside from that newer planes will also give PAL a chance to improve its cabin product and customer experience. |
I think nothing is wrong in picking up A321neos and 789s in the used market as long as it is in good condition.
Cebu Pacific recently picked up A320neos in the used market for expansion in CRK |

Exactly the point of others way back when many raised their eyebrows after PAL decided to return the new planes and keep the old ones. But honestly, was there no other alternatives but to return new leased planes? Or there would have been a way to get rid of the old ones and keep the new ones but people that time just didn't know because they were basically non-airline people? Hoping Viv will no longer get a hold of PAL or even PAL Holdings.
