The supply chain is a mess now even brand-new planes suffer from delays, recently A350 seats are delayed that's why Airbus said that deliveries are delayed due to supply chain issues.

Marcos Jr departed from Washington to London Gatwick using Gulfstream G650 with registry VP-CFE. Looks like Capt. Stan will arrive later in Manila with a smile via PR2

PAL has plenty of A321 unlike the A320 with less then 13 remaining I still have a hard time believing the A321ceo can takeover all of PAL or GAP domestic ops. Unless airport around the country are made capable of handeling the A321 which is likely, though it will take time.

AFAIK, MPH cannot handle A321s. If only they could, I am sure GAP and CEB would be flying A321s between MNL and MPH.

Re: PAL

I remember GAP deploying the A321ceo at MPH back in 2019! I think its possible however it will take a hit on payload which limit its pax capacity to 150-165 instead of the full 199 which could be made full. But will limit its cargo capacity in exchange

Airbus A321 is actually a capable plane as A320 does on short runways. The standard runways in the PH is 2km. ZAM has usable runway of 1.5K right now and CEB is bringing the A21N. You don't need a longer runway if flying is over an hour. Weight is not an issue here. Load factor is. If your passenger is only a hundred why do you choose to fly a 199 seater plane when you can use 150 seater instead? Similarly, if you have 80 passengers with all light baggage why do you bring the A320 when a Q400 will do? PAG and BXU has been served by Q4s from MNL when it is a jet service airport.

Re: PAL

Looks like Airbus is planning a stretched version of the A220 larger then the A220-300 maybe we could see PAL order them for GAP in the future which will depend highly their fleet planning department.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-05-05/airbus-hopes-to-jump-boeing-with-redesigned-a220?srnd=premium&leadSource=uverify%20wall

I think GAP or PAL should do feasibility study on acquring bigger aircraft then the Dash 8-Q400 like Embraer Next-Generation Turboprop which is designed for 1-2 hour flights with capacity for up to 90 passengers and help grow smaller hubs like Cebu, Clark, and Davao. But it's developed is on hold as of this time and their is uncertainty if it will resume? However their aren't alot of option for turboprop aircraft except an evolution of the ATR EVO while De Havilland of Canada has suspended production on the DHC-8-Q400 (Aka; Dash 8-Q400)

some flights from MNL to BCD, ILO and DGT have also been downgraded to Q4s last month... and from A321s to A320s resulting to a lot of overbookings... personally experienced about 3 flights to BCD on A320s (flights used to be on 321s) that were overbooked...

Qatar Airways updates its flight schedules now utilizing their high-density Airbus A350-1000 configured with 395 seats (J24Y371). The said A35Ks will gradually replace their high-density Boeing 777-300ER with 412 seats.

Since A350-1000s will replace PAL 77Ws
Will PAL have the similar config as Qatar Airways?

No. See PAL fleet planning post. The limitation to number of seats is associated with range. Long range that is. The more you fill it up the lesser your range becomes.

Re: PAL

So it will be more than 350 but not less than 390?

Cathay Pacific's config is ideal I think, they are deploying it in the US flights

I believe EVA Air is planning to receive three class B787-9 in 2025 with 21 seats in PECY with reduction in ECY while BCL will remain unchange. Also could also be in line with CL who also ordered the B787-9 though its configuration has yet to be revealed.

CX has 32 PECY seats for their A35K so best guest for PAL will be between 24-28 seats, while ECY cabin could be 268-271 seats, with BCL between 44-46 seats so around 340 seats or slightly higher!

Did PAL have the same deal this time with US EXIM Bank?

Like they signed an agreement for the financing of the 789 order in favorable terms
