In reply to my earlier post last October, this seems now to be the decision of NNIC. It still hasn't resolve the issue of CEB traffic. Meanwhile, I leave you statements from GM Lito Alvarez:

For now, NNIC plans to assign Terminal 3 exclusively for international passengers come March 2025, once the renovation of Terminal 4 is complete.

Terminal 4 was temporarily closed for renovation last November and twill reopen in February 2025.

All airlines operating out of Terminal 4, including Sunlight Air and Cebu Pacific (CEB) unit CebGo and AirSWIFT, had transferred to Terminal 2.

By next year, Alvarez said, NNIC will transfer AirAsia Philippines from Terminal 2 to Terminal 4, while some of CEB’s domestic flights from Terminal 3 will transfer to Terminal 2.

NNIC has ongoing discussions with CEB on whether 50 percent or 70 percent of the airline’s domestic flights will be transferred to Terminal 2, Alvarez said.

It was previously stated to the press that Terminal re assignment may be implemented sometime 1st quarter of 2025 present the incoming new airlines that has been speculated for quite a period of time now.

Currently, we already have Air France, then by April we will be welcoming Air Canada. Who could be next?

Delta?
Lufthansa?
El Al?
Air India?
American?

High security destination and airline requirement fits well to be group all the way to the "present" international wing of T3 where installed scanning machines and glass enclosed departure gates are already in place.

Thoughts anyone?

It looks like the big NAIA turboprop exodus is coming next year.

Yes. It does. This forum is well aware of that a long time ago before news appear on print.

Is there a reason why they're suggesting Clark instead of Sangley to be the new location for turboprop flights? I thought the whole point of Sangley existing was because the general aviation and turboprop flights were supposed to go there, and PAL doesn't want to use Clark due to it being too far?

NNIC has no power where DOTr relocates turboprop operations. It was always Sangley. There is a reason why the transport department has allocated 5b for this airport to prepare it for this transfer. Its not a secret also to those who regularly post or visit this forum.

PAGCOR leases Nayong Pilipino property to SMC

SAN MIGUEL CORP. (SMC) has signed a 25-year lease with the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (PAGCOR) to use the 15-hectare Nayong Pilipino property in Pasay.

Under the lease agreement, officially signed on Dec. 12, 13 hectares of the Nayong Pilipino property will be used for “SMC’s initiatives, which will mostly include infrastructure to complement airport requirements,” PAGCOR said in a statement on Monday.

I saw suggestions that it's RSA's plane or otherwise belongs to SMC.

Re: NNIC

Looks like NNIC has survived a peak season without too much incident. By the next peak season, we better see actual renovations done. It isn’t too difficult to make the interiors of T1 and T3 look like Changi’s older concourses with the right refurbishment and choice of tenants. But can NNIC do it?

According to a YouTube video I saw, Terminal 4 is being partially or even fully demolished. Is this true?

The government will commence its plan to move turboprops out of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Parañaque on March 30, coinciding with the summer vacation.

According to the resolution issued by the Slot Committee last month, carriers must transfer 30 percent of their turboprop operations out of NAIA starting March 30, 2025.

“At the start of Summer 2025 (30 March 2025), scheduled domestic carriers with turboprop aircraft must transfer at least 30 percent of their turboprop operations at NAIA to secondary airports,” the committee said in its order.

“By Winter 2025 (26 October 2025), all turboprop operations of such scheduled domestic carriers at NAIA must have been completely transferred to other secondary airports,” the public-private committee said.

Not covered by the order are those used for general aviation or the private planes used mostly by politicians to go to the different provinces.

Also not covered by the order are scheduled domestic carriers that utilize purely turboprop aircraft or those that have five or fewer aircraft in their fleet. These include Sunlight Airways, Island Aviation, Alphaland and AirSwift, which will be given until the start of Summer 2026 to completely transfer their operations to other airports.

Re: NNIC

What will even be the point of T4 anymore once the turboprop flights are gone? Isn't the main reason for T4's continued existence the turboprop flights? I know the future plans are for T4 to permanently close once T2's expansion is done, and for T4 to be converted to other purposes, but that is years away.
