What’s the story behind the closure of the CX lounge? That was always one of the best lounges in Manila. Better-maintained compared to the SQ lounge next door. Why did NNIC force them out? CX is the biggest foreign airlines in MNL, surely that counts for something.

Executive Traveller managed to get a statement from Cathay saying something like they “endeavored to extend” their operations. So that’s them essentially saying they were forced to close.

This is what we were hoping for when SMC roped in Incheon Airport as their partner in NNIC. Instead we got Ramon Ang grandstanding how making the access roads wider was somehow an improvement.

Ang might be forcing SQ, CX and other high profile airlines to start planning to move to NMIA and build their best lounges there with all the space they need. and that will be the advertising momentum for the rest to follow. Realistically SQ and CX do not want a shared lounge

Sorry stupid question, how will the sale of bcda to Mia affect naia? Will this lead to extension of T3? How will this also affect SMC’s handling of the terminals? Thank you for the answer

German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier will visit Lufthansa Technik Philippines during his state visit in Manila, it is one of the world’s largest maintenance centres for wide-body aircraft, which trains predominantly Philippine skilled workers to German standards.

The visit will be made after the rental hike of LTP

The old / abandoned planes previously parked near T4 area has been transferred to the open area across T2 (beside the runway fence of 06-24).

However, SMC Infrastructure’s smooth takeover of NAIA has eased pressure on the timetable for completing the Bulacan International Airport. Visible construction activities are now underway for the new domestic terminal, which will eventually link to Terminal 1.

The new domestic terminal will also soon rise where the former Philippine Village Hotel once stood, and which had hampered the efficient use of NAIA for several long years.

However, a new building for the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. or PAGCOR would also be built in the area as per their agreement in helping facilitate the resolution of the legal impasse that for years had prevented the government from evicting and demolishing the old PVH.

Business Snippets learned that there would be no physical connection to Terminal 3 as it is too far.

The New NAIA Infra. Corp. or NNIC, instead, reportedly plans airside bus transfers. This means that international passengers would not have to leave the airport premises, but would be bussed from their arrival terminal to the domestic departure terminal or vice versa.

Business Snippets also learned that the NNIC is finally set to auction off several abandoned aircraft that have been pushed to the perimeter of the NAIA complex and is visible to those using the C-5 Link to Parañaque.

Nothing is new, but nothing seems to be anything close to finished.

We were told mid-2026 completion of T4 at the old cargo hangar. It's Q3 and nothing is finished. T5 domestic has the same visible progress as Caticlan airport. No announcements of revised timelines, just pictures of new restaurants in T3 that are difficult to get to.

Looks like nothing is going on. 3 months is generous. I’d say they’re a whole year away
