Winter Wuhan Wednesdays

Do the CRK-ICN/PUS flights mean the PH has maxed out it (is it 20k/wk?) allotment?
And is there another pre-positioning flight or will the aircraft come from the CEB-CRK flight?

Booking MNL-US Mainland on PR ( connecting @ LAX&JFK) & finding marketing agreements w/ AA, DL & AS is interesting. I'm surprised though that the HA marketing doesn't yet show as SEA results in AC, AS & DL
Or is it just me?

Re: PSI Air 2007 Boeing 777-200

While PAL is busy expanding, PSI Air 2007 is expanding too

Philippines' PSI Air 2007 acquired Boeing 777-200 for intercontinental cargo operations.

PSI Air 2007 has acquired its first widebody jet for use in launching in-house intercontinental cargo flights. The 777 is formerly used by Thai Airways with registry HS-TJC.

Kudos to them for expanding from 737Classics & 727F to a B772 in 2 years, but it might be a while before we see them at either ORD or MDY and ONT

LCF conversion seems the most likely option unless they'll fly it as a Preighter-CoViD style, perhaps in a GMF form for 70 tons @>3000nm if they do go the low cost freighter route.

Their name is quite odd, what's the 2007 for? And are they related to the ground handling logistics firm?

Was hoping for some more news in the pax side of things guess I set my expectations a bit to high!

Anyways with the rapid pass of recovery I wonder if will see some changes to PAL order book with recent projection for regonal recovery to take slower pace then previous projections thanks due part to restrictions upon entering China. I wonder if it will effect on growth for secondary hubs such as CRK, KLO, CEB and beyond?

It looks like RP-C3508 is staying in NY till BBM flies home. I wonder how this disrupts the existing flights that utilizes the A350s. I looked at FR24, and it appears that PR126 is being operated by a 77W.

PR001 flew to EWR yesterday. Departed MNL around 0845h and arrived sometime noon in EWR. Surprised that they flew to EWR instead of JFK.

Passed by LTP last friday and surprised not to see 7781 outside with windows covered. It used to be parked outside, viewable when passing by the taxiway onto RWY24. Looks like prepping to be reactivated.

Didn’t know 7781 is back here from the desert. Was expecting 7774 to be reactivated.

That’s what I thought too. RP-C7774 had recent movements, and it’s tagged as Luftech or something on FR24.

It does affect one route, as it always does when a plane is taken out of service. San Francisco departing every morning as 5104 instead of the evening, taking in the returning LAX or YVR flight back again in the pond.

Because BBM wanted New Jersey where most of his itinerary are.

You must be referring to 74 as others said. Anyhow, both 74 and 81 are coming back to service soon, as stated in my earlier post.

Another two wides is plan to be added next year. I'm guessing both from Avation and Voyager.

I sure did see 7774 being serviced last week. It had a broken pipe(?) that caused some bloating on the skin so it had to be changed.

Pardon, I might have seen the wrong registry back then. Must have been 7774 instead of 7781.

Speaking about BBM, take a look at the future of Presidential jet offered by Boeing.

Wow! It would be very nice if we have funds for it. But I’m guessing he will have a hard time to get a budget for that. It would be more realistic if they offered a narrow body BBJ.

Perhaps the like of this one

They are going to EU too. So most likely it will make a better sales pitch soon.

So will he join past Philippine presidents that flew back to the PH from a US state visit via a freshly delivered PR widebody?
I guess it really was the 778... in the next 6 years?

They might have, since one of the Boeing execs that sat with Ramon Ang across the Philippine President is the President for Defense, Space & Security and previously was under secretary of the Air Force

PAL Skytrax Rankings

Evodesire
Whats happening to PAL?

Skytrax 2019 - 30th in World's Best, Most Improved, 11th best cabin crew
Skytrax 2021 - dropped to rank 52
Skytrax 2022 - dropped to rank 77

Has the level of service really gone down?

Wouldn't this affect their sales and branding?

During the time of JJB, it was a whole different story where PAL was winning awards and accolades left and right.
