Re: Cebu Pacific

One way to read this is that there’s only one manufacturer that gives a choice of engine and that’s Airbus.

It’s really sad though. Boeing had the slots and finally good pricing, and then they get really bad PR with the whole door thing

Nailed it.

That is how keen the senses are on some of the posters here that we know what Manufacturer CEB is getting without them telling us what frames they gonna get. Subtle way of saying we already know.

Cebu Pacific, operated by Cebu Air, Inc., expects to complete its aircraft purchase by the first half of the year, its president said on Tuesday.

“The process is really going back and forth with the key suppliers. It’s not just Airbus and Boeing, but it’s also the engine manufacturers; because, clearly, we have to make an engine selection with those aircraft,” Mr. Lao said.
And which manufacturer offers engine choices? Talking to friends in the know on this one, this has been decided last year, and we're seeing more evidence now.

After all one their investor IndiGo partners have a lot of A320neo family on order. The question now is how will Airbus promise 5J a right delivery time since there are long lines for the aircraft type.

Airbus is also undergoing a deal for airlines to sold their slot for United's potential A321neo order.

For Boeing 737max it is still facing a lot of problems, from manufacturing(plug door issue and other stuff) to certification of the -7 and -10 variant.

It seems the delay has more to do with the engine of choice than the aircraft manufacturer

Re: Cebu Pacific

Yes just like some orders from big airlines abroad

Engine manufacturers are crucial in big orders

An example is how Emirates wants the A350-1000 but not satisfied with its engines which Rolls Royce is currently improving to satisfy the airline.

RP-C7776 will be returned to the lessor in the next few months
Actually, two of the Boeings are due to return to their lessors this year. Not actually additions but temporary replacements.

They are RP-C7776 (msn 37712), let from AerCap, and RP-7777 (msn 37709), let from Castlelake. These are sale-leaseback transactions which has been extended by 3 more years. Had it not for numerous defective amenities previously complained here it would still be flying for them. Sadly, keeping them draws ire to its customers, particularly some J passengers with non-reclinable seats and non working IFEs. Thanks but no thanks to its cargo flights. It did save the company from total collapse.

Meanwhile, CEB has finally caught up with Rolls Royce engine deployment delays. Same complaint by UAE, about the A35k. Its engines. Two A339s are supposed to fly to Saudi Arabia but they are postponed until next year. Not that they weren't announced before, but just stating the obvious.

I think they need their A339s to fill in first the void while a number of NEOs remain grounded. They most likely may push through with their RUH and DOH once the NEOs are no longer "No Engine Option".

First time post, long time reader.

Garuda's B777 seating configuration is F 8 C 38 Y268=314 seats & C 26 Y 367=393 seats depending on the aircraft.

PAL's B777 seating configuration is C 42 Y 328=370 seats.

Some airlines are bringing back the inflight magazine. Cebu Pacific's Smile is back since Dec 2022.

https://ink-global.com/smile/

Any chance PAL's Mabuhay Magazine will return? I know the same publisher (Ink) Cebu Pacific is using used to publish Mabuhay before COVID hit.
