Tony Fernandes did say that he plans to launch MNL-LAX flights in 2025 and to use Manila is a hub for its US flights. Here he goes again with all his vision, as though they have the planes to do it and as though they didnt fail on their long haul LCC model way back. I hope they also do not forget that AAX was on the brink of bankruptcy and closure due to its business model.

Philippine Airlines (PAL) said it remains focused on expansion initiatives to meet market demand and contribute to the tourism industry’s development.
“We are aware of potential economic headwinds in global markets but we remain focused on growing our route network and our fleet progressively to meet market demand and support the tourism industry,” the airline said in a statement to BusinessWorld on Saturday. PAL is confident about its long-term growth prospects, the airline also said, adding that this trajectory will be supported by its growing route network and an additional fleet. “PAL and PAL Express are committed to continually improving passenger service and operational efficiency through digital transformation and greater connectivity in our existing hubs in Manila, Cebu and Davao.” https://www.bworldonline.com/corporate/2024/01/15/568760/pal-to-focus-on-expanding-route-network-fleet-this-year/?amp |
"Manila, Cebu, and Davao"? More of Manila and Cebu only. Kinalimutan na ng PR/2P ang Davao or Davao only gets the scraps from Manila and Cebu. 🤣🤣🤣 |

Sadly, Airasia is not even designated flag carrier to the US. It can't even fly to GUM. This time ka Toni is dreaming pipe.

I think only 1 was rumored to come during holiday but for unknown reasons isn't here yet. That is why they are called rumors. Even the 13 remaining 321Neos orders are still considered rumors because they are not in the country just yet. But it does not make the story false. Only the date of its apparent appearance is not certain. But it will eventually.

Timeline is very prone to changes but the thing is those stuff will happen soon
Just like aircraft orders sometimes they will come earlier than scheduled. Sometimes the announcement just like 5J they will not come to the SG airshow, some expected that their order would be announced at the show. |

I think he wants to prove that ultra long haul is also for LCCs and he wants to make a mark there. I don't know if he just can't accept the reality that LCC is not for all markets, as proved by their failed EU flights and the huge debt of AAX.
Many raised their brows on Toni's statements on flying transpac flights in 2025 with Manila as the hub. Someone must be on crack. |

I hope he only gets slots for Clark or Cebu to the USA, and not Manila.

Fascinating insights into the Philippine aviation scene! PAL's retention of the 4-star rating and aircraft changes, GAP's expanding fleet, and CEB's challenges offer a dynamic landscape. Exciting times ahead, looking forward to more engaging discussions in this thread

Really bad optics for PAL. Particularly to San Francisco. I mean c'mon! You take them here and care less flying them back. Does customer service really that bad? They could just have refunded the ticket. But couldn't. And it took them too long to do it.
PAL PR campaign is really in terrible mess.

I think it's only after the Philippine Consulate, US Congressman, and finally the US DOT reached out and will start investigating the case for possible discrimination... I think PAL was trying to earn more from ancillary with the oxygen services... but had to back pedal when this issue gained media mileage in the US, and the DOT stepping in. |

This was already answered in this forum. This time however, let PAL answer it themselves, See, like we told you. This forum is way ahead of the story posted in mainstream media. If you backread posts, you actually find breaking aviation news not yet on any news site. Like this one. Kodus to some of the Forumers here. You made that all possible.

Cebu Pacific, operated by Cebu Air, Inc., expects to complete its aircraft purchase by the first half of the year, its president said on Tuesday.
“I think what we had initially said was maybe by the first quarter, but then first half was our latest guidance,” Alexander G. Lao, Cebu Pacific president and chief commercial officer told reporters. The budget carrier earlier said that it plans to order over 100 narrow-body aircraft from Boeing or Airbus, worth roughly $12 billion. “The process is really going back and forth with the key suppliers. It’s not just Airbus and Boeing, but it’s also the engine manufacturers; because, clearly, we have to make an engine selection with those aircraft,” Mr. Lao said. “We expect to hopefully come to a decision by the first half. Before the first half of the year ends. So, the process is ongoing [but] there is no hard deadline. It is not like we’re chasing,” he added. https://www.bworldonline.com/corporate/2024/01/31/572440/cebu-pacific-expects-to-complete-aircraft-purchase-by-first-half/?amp |
