Although Zodiac Seats is having production issues its mostly related to thier premium seats like the Cirrus and Optima, as far as I know there premium economy and economy are still doing fine.

I don't see what's the problem with having the same product for regional and long-haul flights? Qantas use the same (although heavily modified) Vantage XL seat they use on their long-haul 787s for their regional A330s. It's a very nice product (maybe not as nice as, say, reverse herringbone but still solid) and there's direct all-aisle access. Remember: consistency (in both soft and hard products) is crucial for a 5-star rating, and I don't think it'd be very cost-efficient for PAL to add a fifth J product on their widebodies.
While a herringbone configuration would be a much better option in my opinion, the bright side is like you say, consistency. QF has these seats on their 789s which run from PER-LHR. Just the privacy factor seems to be the downside. They could've also opted for an 18" screen opposed to a 15" if the photos are correct.

Once they get rid of the A343s, then PR will have lie-flat seats in Business across their widebody fleet which is a feat that even CX can't do.

It'll be interesting what they intend to do on their 77W's and their 368-seater A330s.
Are you including angled-flat in your definition of 'lie-flat'?

It's actually their entire manufacturing chain. The A350 galleys and bins which are also made by Zodiac have manufacturing defects across all carriers.

Angled lie-flat and full lie-flat = Still flat

I'm sure you would take an angled lie-flat seat over a petty recliner, no?!

Can’t wait for its delivery.

So PR has been vocal in opening up BOM and DEL. I wonder if they will time it to connect for SFO/LAX service. They’re also vocal about CTS.

I don't think they have much choice. Both destinations are congested airport and having a time of their choosing would be difficult. Their slot in Manila is likewise a challenge.

Oh. Never knew DEL and BOM have the same problem as MNL. Looking at their previous schedule, It could only connect from PR113 to DEL but not the other way around.

Are PR's A350s sporting the new, taller winglets that's on the ULR?

PAL’s performance

seven13
I was surprised reading from the latest CAPA report that PR’s NorthAm isn’t really doing that well considering that LF is quite high. I always thought that its NorthAm ops is always profitable (lax going double daily for most months and sfo being double daily almost half the year; YYZ going monstop and soon JFK). According to the report, it’s biggest competition are north asian carriers (i’m guessing CA and MU, with both carriers offering double daily MNL flights and CA operating widebody during peak travel months)

Yeah, I was surprised by the CAPA report, but that would explain why PR is interested in the A350-1000. Perhaps they need the better economics to compete on their flagship routes of LAX/SFO.

I think its high time PAL look for codeshare partner especially in the East Coast  of the US since JFK is there only destination, B6 would be the best option for PR IMHO.

PAL first A321neo RP-C9930 has been delivered.

www.airbus.com/newsroom/press-releases/en/2018/05/philippine-airlines-takes-delivery-of-its-first-a321neo-aircraft.html

Personally I'm far more excited with the A359 delivery then the A321N.
