I'm Intrigue by the fact that both PR and CX dislike the B787 what could be the reason ?
A mix of range, seating capacity, cargo and economics.

CX's 773's still have a lot of life left in them (they'll also be picking up 5 ex-EK 773's), but eventually, you'll have to think of their replacements. The 78J seems to be the most logical replacement as it's more suited for short missions (unless Boeing decides to stretch the 78J even further)

New T2 Mabuhay Lounge Update + PAL University

Now that PR will move all its international operations out of T2 and into T1, what will happen to the under-construction lounges in both terminals? Will they continue working on the T2 lounge or will it be canned and the new T1 lounge expanded?

In other news, this month's issue of Mabuhay says that PAL will open a new training facility by this year, with 'simulators, airport and airline mock-ups' as well as 'classrooms equipped with cutting-edge training equipment', according to the magazine.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but PR doesn't have its own simulators yet, right?

I'm sure it can still be put to use for domestic flights with Business Class, but how many domestic flights are there with Business Class?

It's gonna be great for those who hold status with PR. A nice spacious lounge will ensure their loyalty to PAL for domestic flights, no matter how much cheaper the 5J fare may be. And 5J isn't all that much cheaper.

Will proceed as usual. PAL will however receive refund from MIAA which most likely will be off-set from rent due to contractual amendments.

Since PAL will be receiving the A321neos anytime now, does anyone know the seats that will be used in business class? All we know is that it will be fully flat but other than that, the seats themselves are a mystery.

I was of impression that A359 replaces A340. After all that was what they were saying before. Now it seems there is a new kid on the block to do just that. Interesting.

Possible A330neo order maybe? Now that both models are true transpacific planes it wouldn't be a surprise

Intresting choice I was hoping for the Thompson Vantage similar to what Fly Dubai is using on their 737 Max but I'm not surprised they chose the Diamond considering it's more space efficent then the vantage. but I guess it's best to wait until PAL will published some interior shots of their A321neo.

Do you have any pictures of the renders for the interior from PAL? Can't seem to find anything about it on the internet.

Just a throwback question here, how was the ride of the defunct Asian Spirit BAe-ATP compared to NAMC YS-11 and say PAL's Fokker 50? I have tried a 2hours plus flight onboard YS-11 to Tagbilaran many years back. The food was decent and the seats were classic wide and comfy..It's just that it was the longest domestic flight I ever had. Although those birds are long gone, but it's nice to remember them though para maiba nman😊

Really? That’s an odd choice. The A321neos are supposed to have 168 seats. Rockwell collins diamond is too dense. Even if you put in extra lavs and galleys, it won’t add up to 168, unless the economy seat pitch is 34.

A330 to AKL

In reply to this post by Travelbug_89
PR to upgrade aircraft on the MNLAKL sector effective Jun 2018, seems like PR is doing great on this sector. I think someone (fellow forumer or news outlet) previously mentioned that PR is upgrading its AKL service. With the new rotation of the tri-class to AKL, seems to me the B777 will be seen more frequently to key regional destinations (HND, BKK and HKG). With KWI's service suspension imminent, PR to upgrade aircraft type on PVG route as well. PVG will be served by a mix of A330 and A340.
