Samra: International services will begin towards the end of the year. We have received interest from several airlines for destinations in southeast Asia, the UAE and in several other international markets.

Is a Filipino carrier one of them?

I doubt. It will probably be Singapore/Malaysia/Thailand first before us, since those are the countries with high demand to India. I'd expect us to have another DEL flight (probably from IndiGo) first or even a BOM flight before we get flights to Noida or Navi Mumbai.

Flew out of MNL on Friday and saw the following aircraft on the apron, either in storage or being worked on:

RP-C8781 (A330 Tri Class)
RP-C9935 (A321neo)
RP-C9937 (A321neoSR)
RP-C9917 (A321ceo)

9917 seemed to be under storage with window covers on, but maybe it's next in line for the cabin retrofit?

In other news, 9932 might be entering service soon as it was being tested on today...

8781 is flying, but maybe on routine check/inspection.
9928 is latest ceo that has been retrofitted. Making it the 5th ceo after 9905-07/19.

https://business.inquirer.net/596594/airasia-to-refresh-philippine-fleet-with-new-a220s

AirAsia claims that AirAsia PH will get some of the ordered A220s. Knowing AirAsia and their broken promises, and how they keep changing their orders and fleet, for me this is a "I'll believe it when I see it" thing.

Flew with PAL yesterday. It seems that they added new stickers for being recognized as the 2025 Cirium On-Time Performance Winner. Hope to see oneworld stickers soon 😊

Recycled old story about having "new planes". Something AA execs keep saying but never happened.

Re: PAL

I wonder if PAL will use it upon delivery vs cannibalizing the engines to get one of their older NEOs alive, which is what other airlines have been doing

I think they’re in the process of reactivating the oldest stored NEO (9932). I’ve seen it on TEST several times.

Philippine Airlines has tapped Deutsche Bank AG and BNP Paribas SA to arrange meetings with fixed-income investors starting next week, testing international debt markets for the first time since emerging from a pandemic-era bankruptcy restructuring.

In a regulatory filing, Asia’s oldest airline said it appointed Deutsche Bank as sole global coordinator and BNP Paribas as joint bookrunner to conduct investor calls across Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and the United States beginning June 29.

A U.S. dollar-denominated, benchmark-sized offering of five-year non-call two senior fixed-rate notes may follow, subject to market conditions.

The notes will be issued by Cayman Islands-exempted entity Primero Agila Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of PAL, and will be unconditionally and irrevocably guaranteed by Philippine Airlines and Air Philippines Corp.

Beefier funds for upcoming orders and other upgrade efforts of the airline

If they will transfer to T3 it will also help them to build a bigger mabuhay lounge

I am sorry I just have to let out my instant reaction while listening to the speech of LT3rd, bubble thought suddenly containing words like "yeah right" and "expectations vs reality" online shopping hahahahahaha

But on serious note, they just set the tone of what they (PAL) have imposed upon themselves. All that was pronounced by the chairman and the president they need to materialize and deliver.

so having said that. Really hoping for the best here for PAL.

My hunch was right. Bilyonaryo published an article upgrading PAL’s rating to BB which would help them secure funding favorably.

If ever PAL flies back to LHR, are they still not allowed to use Russian airspace? That rule is for flights to EU nations, but The UK is no longer part of it.

I don't know about the EU specifically, but they do use Russian airspace for their Toronto and New York flights.

They are prohibited from using Russian Airspace. UK is still part of Eurocontrol.
