Additonally, the Head of Tourism of Embassy of israel to the PH is a guest of honor, he mentioned to everyone that today (04Dec) they will meet PAL for the possibility and arrangement of direct flights to and from Israel.
|
"for now, meet ang greet with PAL" since PAL cannot even sufficiently accommodate its own network. As for EL AL, like the "mine mine mine and mine some more" mentality of PAL, earning revenue without lifting a finger is to partner, interline, joint venture - whatever one may call it but selling PAL tickets on foreign carrier seats and goes with earning rent revenue from slots/ allocation purchased by PAL abroad i.e. LHR being rented by BA, among others. |

Perhaps. They have the potential to become FSC. They have their own customer base, different from that of CEB.

That is not what is appearing at MIAA as of this date. That could change though with the waiver. I don't know if its forthcoming. Lets see From the time of JJB to the current Stan, PAL would always say they have plans to go to TLV, but never had the courage to mount flights. CPA instead did it for them, via HKG. ELY manifest intent to fly last year on B789 but was caught up by the war. Was cancelled before it flew. Meanwhile, AFL was caught up by politics in the Marcos Administration. During the previous administration Russian Warship regularly makes port of call here. Now, even a Russian submarine is not permitted to pass Philippine waters. We could not even detect submarines.

according to PR "PAL is PAL". So they wont be scared. lols... If that is their response, then we, the riding public, should be very worried with the state PR is in. You cannot do that in a service oriented business. |

1st Senior Manager Route Network Planning Senior Manager Route Network Planning 12 hours ago Air Canada today announced that it shall be launching new 4 weekly nonstop flights to Manila from its trans-pacific hub of Vancouver effective 02Apr 2025. All services to be flown using a Boeing 787-9 with the schedule being as follows on a year-round basis: Days 2/4/5/7 Dep YVR 0155 Arr MNL 0620+1 Dep MNL 0925 Arr YVR 0620 MNL is a good volumetric route for AC as it has high demand for Canada domestic especially which would be its niche offering herewith versus PR. Over the past year, the p2p market demand on MNL-Canada cities were as follows: Toronto - 229K @ US$ 1,128 ow with YQ Vancouver - 168K @ US$ 994 ow with YQ Calgary - 140K @ US$ 948 ow Winnipeg - 86K @ US$ 809 ow Edmonton - 65K @US$ 953 ow Montreal - 34K @ US$ 1,117 ow Ottawa - 10K Halifax - 4K Total Canada-MNL round trip - 736K! I reckon Alberta and Winnipeg will be the backbone to feed the flight out of YVR (due to much less competition to deal with). The feed from USA West Coast + LAS/Texas/ORD for MNL via YVR would be bonus on top of the domestic Canada as the main focus would be homeland. Overall, demand will be high year-round on the MNL route and not seasonal which is for BKK. The best part is the high domestic Canada demand for Manila which shall be further stimulated with AC's nonstop service. Yield may not be as high as TPE (+14%) but the volumetric demand makes up for that. I won't be surprised if during certain peak periods especially in winter season, AC deploys the high density 450-seater Boeing 777-300ER on this route. More importantly YVR-MNL-YVR route characteristics makes it an ideal sector for AC's future Boeing 787-10IGWs as it can easily be flown with a full payload in both directions as YVR-MNL is 13 hours 25 minutes whilst MNL-YVR is 12 hours 20 minutes. Interesting on the 787-10IGW hope PAL gets those too |

The 450 seater 77w doesn't have the range to reach MNL. More so the 78K.

PAL ramping up domestic, foreign flights for holidaysBy Darwin G. AmojelarLook around, CEB is taking over most of GAP route with multiple Airbus frequency against their turboprop that it has been eating their market share alive as we speak, domestically speaking. Introduction of multiple points against none. Just talking about ILO here for example. By the time they figure it out, no one rides their plane anymore. Because they can't read the competition. I'm not even talking about CEB Mactan base, or CGY, or ZAM, or DVO for that matter. Just ILO. For a start, CEB is beating them to CTS. QFA is beating them to BNE, and UAL to SFO. CEB is killing the holiday rush, as they are there to stay longer. PAL on the other hand, careful as they are, contends with the holiday rush only. I mean, seriously? That is all you got?

PAL is PAL kasi daw... That way of thinking is going to be their downfall... Example... today, Dec 8 5J 29 flights to various destinations (dom and intl) vs PR 15 fligths to MNL and CEB only... Talk about being murdered.... |

Always happy to be proven wrong. Did shown you the memo and told you about the waiver. They got it, straight from Malacanang. While Tamayo heads CAA, the tenant from Malacanang is still his boss.

talk about PAL IS PAL mentality and pinoys are price sensitive etc resulting to "DENSIFICATION" another beacon of a bright light that they absolutely are not doing their thorough research and study of the forever evolving market Pinoys are YES, price sensitive but if you make them pay a bit higher than their expectations then make sure it is worth it and that is where the practicality sets in. Pay for a legacy fair and they offer you shitty planes? (pardon my french but it is what it is - shitty shabby densified cattle bus planes) |

Hasn't CEB also beat PAL in the MNL-SYD, MNL-DXB, and MNL-MEL flights in terms of capacity? |
