Air Asia Philippines is really in a bad light right now. PR flights from Australia were similarly diverted Monday, but everything was fine at their end.

PAL is adding a lot of capacity this winter 2026.

It will add thrice a week rotation to Seoul onboard A321.
It plans to resume daily flight to Xiamen and Jinjiang.
4th weekly frequency to Beijing will be restored
It will add a second daily red-eye flight to Shanghai.

These are on top of the previously announced service increase to other Asian destination like Tokyo-Narita and Osaka-Kansai

Has it been brought up here that PR is planning to resume DEL and add BOM? There are murmurs going around the company about it.

saw on youtube IFE of the A35K, they featured CHICAGO highlights and INDIA highlights so basically just a matter of time, the former has already been announced.

I saw that too. It literally said “India Spotlight” on the PAL Inflight intro I saw. I guess flights might have been delayed with the whole war since it’s weird to program content to destinations you haven’t announced yet. Content costs money so I’m sure they didn’t want those movies to go to waste.  

Visa free travel is influencing things but maybe preparing to be a feeder for oneworld as well? India is the weak point so PAL will probably help open up some new flight options from India to North America.  

Speaking of which, I hear QF’s award availability is 90% showing a majority of PAL flights to Asia, Europe and North America, gaining a bit of joy and complaints. . lol

An air services agreement between the Philippines and Iceland was formally signed, making it easier to operate flights and transport shipments between the two countries, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) said on Thursday.

Following the Philippines-Iceland air negotiation talks on Aug. 18 and 19, the DOTr said an initial air services agreement was successfully signed by Assistant Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs Edgar Badajos and Sigríður Eysteinsdóttir, director and chief negotiator for Air Services Agreements at Iceland’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) and Philippine Airlines (PAL) signed an Airport Use Agreement (AUA) governing the flag carrier's operations at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), the first such standardized agreement with an airline under NNIC's management of the country's main gateway.

The agreement sets key performance indicators aimed at improving operational efficiency and aligning airline operations with the service levels NNIC itself is required to meet under its concession agreement with the government.

NNIC intends to use the PAL AUA as the template for similar arrangements with other carriers operating at NAIA.

INDONESIA’S TransNusa is seeking regulatory approval to operate scheduled international flights to and from the Philippines, according to the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB).

In a notice of hearing dated July 29, the CAB said PT TransNusa Aviation Mandiri had filed a petition for the issuance of a foreign  air carrier’s permit to operate scheduled international air transport services to and from the Philippines.

The CAB scheduled a hearing on TransNusa’s petition for Sept. 22.

PT TransNusa Aviation Mandiri, headquartered in Jakarta, operates TransNusa, which serves domestic destinations in Indonesia, as well as international routes in Southeast Asia and Australia.
