Reason why PAL should have used the IFE seats on their densified A330s. Sans the reclining seats and free F&B, there will be not much difference from 5J when the latter starts putting wifi on board.

Did 5J say anything about adding more routes to the ME such the the revival of RUH and DOH?

Recent pulse from the passengers.
Cebu Pacific = new planes
PAL = old and outdated planes

While 5J still operates a few old planes, they have always stayed with their branding as "the youngest fleet in Asia".

That is what you call being efficiently smart. As we all know, aircraft maintenance cost goes upwards the older the plane gets.

And talking about maintenance, 2 more PAL A321 planes are AOG in Japan. That's gonna cost the airline big time. Lost revenue and spiraling maintenance cost.

2025: 92 aircrafts
Manila - above 50
I don't think this is feasible. At 45 frames, CEB is already having problems with AOBT managing block times at NAIA T3. What more at 50. It basically is stand still at peak arrival banks. I'm not even talking yet about weather disturbance , temporary airport closures, and sudden AOGs. None can be best observed by waiting for your plane to dock at a gate. Just observe.

Aircraft upgrade I can believe. Adding more frames, that's not gonna happen.

No it can't be done. SMC operates only the Terminal, landside that is. Not the airside of things. Sometimes people confuses both. They are not the same.

Landside, San Miguel is still expected to create more gates. I mean they can’t do anything about the long pila for takeoff and landing, but they can at least provide more parking slots

And this was our greatest fear when PAL decided to return the new planes and keep the old ones. While I do understand that they had no choice, but I wonder if there was any other way to keep the new planes and let go of the old ones.

I also wonder if PAL abhors learning from Cebu Pacific. While we can say that both have different models but PAL can learn a thing or two from 5J, such as keeping a young fleet, not being afraid being the "first" in something, long-term planning, proper forecasting, and not being cocky.

Parking, yes. But additional gate, not. Unless they expand T3 or build a new terminal which is not forthcoming in 2025. There is limit to what Terminals can handle for efficiency sake without compromising safety regulations, in accord with ICAO directives, otherwise we lose again that safety compliance certificates for our airports. We don't want to go back in that place

As far as I know, the plan of SMC is to add more restos and shopping areas in T3. They also plan to fix the pre departure areas, perhaps add more seats. That airport is overcrowded already.

Isn’t SMC supposed to get started on the T3 and T2 expansions right off the bat? They only have 15 years. It’s not gonna be finished by 2025, sure, but they should be able to accomplish something after being given carte blanche. Or is this going to be caticlan all over again, and they’ll just stuff everybody into the buses to make space at the gates.

No. 10 years. With optional 5 year extension. T3 expansion does not get benefit for more stand other than pax capacity expansion. As you can see the stands are already stacked up all the way to domestic. For T2 expansion, yes. But PAL holds the parking rights to the apron adjacent to village hotel. No CEB plane on that sector. Which lead us back to the main proposition. Where does CEB insert more of their planes? None

They've always been the type who would rather choose "cure" over "prevention". They only decide on things when its too late. I doubt the lessors has got something to do with this. Such had been happening for many years, even before the pandemic.
