Speaking of the A339, looks like MNL-PPS's A339 flights have been delayed to July. Not an April Fools joke surprisingly.

No problem about the airport though. It had been receiving PR A330 in the past without issue. It would not be a surprise if another 339 sleeps on this airport.

According to Bilyonaryo Ayala Land Inc. (ALI) was neck deep in red ink when it unloaded AirSwift to Cebu Pacific.

ALI said the sale of AirSWIFT “for a total share price of P120 million resulted into a recovery of accumulated losses amounting to P914.3 million.”

Cebu Pacific announced that it paid P1.75 billion to buy out ALI’s stake in AirSwift in October last year.

Apparently, the bleeding came about after they ordered the 3 brand new ATR. Sometimes, old frames do make wonder to your pockets. Ask GAP and PAA.

In other news, United is launching a second SFO-MNL daily flight later this year (in addition to launching Adelaide from SFO and Bangkok/Ho Chi Minh from Hong Kong).

UA is killing PR on broad daylight.
I would not be surprised if PR immediately fields the A35K to SFO later this year.

Well, what do you know?

For a "price sensitive" country, does not really make a lot of sense. Does it?

Why if I may asked UA is doing that? Knowing that it does not bode well for their bottom line? Or they really know something we keyboard experts don't? Just asking the western-based "experts" who lurked at this forum frequently? Maybe they have a sensible answer.

I would not rule out a significant increase in military travel. Can’t move people to EDCA sites on military transport from GUM alone. It could also be a sign that they see something in Taiwan.

GUM argument is same old same old. I would say it has nothing to do with the military. It has something to do with the front seat that is being sold out months in advance.

PERTH, Australia—Cebu Pacific is laying the groundwork for further expansion into long-haul markets, fueled by fleet growth, a strong Philippine economic outlook, increasing demand from overseas Filipino workers and rising inbound tourism.

Speaking at Routes Asia 2025 in Perth, Australia, Director of Network Planning Angela Lugtu outlined the LCC’s ambition to deepen international connectivity beyond its current regional footprint—with additional longer-range destinations under consideration.

While much of Cebu Pacific’s existing network falls within a 4-hr. radius of Manila, Lugtu said the airline is evaluating new points within a 9-hr. range, leveraging its fleet of 11 459-seat Airbus A330-900 aircraft. The carrier’s current long-haul services include flights to Dubai, Melbourne and Sydney.

“In the coming years, we expect to see a change in the capacity split, as we grow the international network,” Lugtu said, referring to the current 73%-27% domestic-international seat capacity ratio.

There goes the answer on where they would go, as expected. The middle east. Oz is no go for them unless new bilateral is expanded. SYD and MEL is already full. I could easily see them flying 4x daily to DXB.

I know it's not scientific by any sense, but whenever you pass by C5 or SLEX and see those gleaming glass towers with "JPMorganChase", "Wells Fargo" and "Capital One" plastered onto them, you kind of figure out why.

JPMorganChase also just recently opened up a new office beside the Tesla showroom in BGC, not too far away from their existing one. Just like their existing office, this second office is also huge, taking up the entire high-rise office tower. Their careers page still shows dozens upon dozens of job openings in the PH.

Also, I have noticed that ever since UA's MNL flights have proven to be quite a success (especially now woth the announcement of the 2nd daily flight), and after the launch of AC and the return of AF, the usual "MNL is a low-yielding route" discourse on A.net has quieted down a bit.

UA continues to expand its Manila flights to two 77W daily flights! While all PAL can do is just watch because they refuse to wake up to reality that they lack planes and "PAL is PAL." These foreign airlines know that the Philippine market is huge and now they are taking advantage. PAL BOD on the other hand remains cocky because of their "PAL is PAL" mindset, overcharging customers while giving them mediocre services. All they do is to wait and press the panic button last minute, instead of planning ahead and keeping the competition at check.

What happened to PAL's A321ceo cabin refurbish plans?

There is chatter on A.net about United SVP Quayle mentioning a third daily given the route's performance. If true, I can't believe how PR has seemingly no foresight or if they had, how they just sat on it.
