Construction is targeted to begin in the third quarter of 2027, according to an official from the project’s advisory group.

Construction is expected to take about 17 quarters — roughly four and a quarter years — with the airport’s first phase aiming to open for commercial operations by 2031. This was shared by Sol Castro, managing director and senior advisor at CFP Transaction Advisors, during last week’s Luzon Economic Corridor Investors Forum.

Interesting. There’s a reclamation component now. 251 hectares.

All construction to take place in government owned-land so no right of way issues.

Reclamation, even if it’s just 250 hectares, is no joke though.

With 190 hectares dedicated to cargo, this airport could accommodate some 15-25m pax per annum.

This will cross an administration though. But I guess the remullas are confident they’ll still be in power in the next admin
