After 15 or so years, Air Asia Philippines has stopped flying to DVO effective Jan 23, 2025.

Were they affected by 5J's and PR's  increase of frequency from DVO?

I think PAL also but they backed out because they would experience high maintenance costs since Delhi has smog

Philippine Airlines will list over 15 billion common shares today, representing roughly 56% of PAL’s total outstanding shares. The largest batch of these shares (10.2 billion shares) was issued to Lucio Tan’s Buona Sorte Holdings back in 2021. The rest of the shares were issued to various creditors as part of PAL’s bankruptcy and subsequent deals as part of its restructuring.

It gives the shareholders (lessors and creditors) the ability to trade the share on the PSE’s system.

Is this supposed to be a good thing or a bad thing for them, financially speaking?

PAA is actually plagued by inadequate fleet, forcing them to suspend flight services. They are in the same boat with PAL. First in the axing line is the lowest load routes, that is compounded by unholy timeslots. The best explanation comes from adding frequencies to other destinations while dropping another, which means some routes yielded better than others.

So it seems that Da Nang is doing well, but China demand remains too depressed for now. I wonder how Chiang Mai and Sapporo are doing for 5J so far, as well as their Don Mueang services.

Even CX ordered A330neos, the airline is still looking om 787 or A350 order

Cathay Pacific Airways has launched a bidding process for dozens of new widebody aircraft, according to people familiar with the matter, pitting Airbus against Boeing in what would be a multibillion-dollar deal.

Cathay is interested in either Airbus A350 planes or Boeing 787 Dreamliners as well as more of the US manufacturer’s yet-to-be-certified 777X twin-aisle jets.

Looks like PR has got some competition coming.

Air Canada just announced that the will fly 4x a week from YVR to MNL (T3) on their 789's.

It's not a new announcement, AC launching MNL was announced several months ago.

ILO is 2500 meters long. Will it be weight restricted?

The A330-900 would be able to take maximum structural payload and do a 2 hr flight off a 2000m runway, that is flight roughly equivalent between MNL-GES, about 1 hour and 45 minutes. ILO is about 25 minutes.

I don't think CAA is hearing him well. Umm, maybe because of this?
