So they pursue 10 abreast config already and not contemplating anymore about it

Say goodbye to those 777X hopes. It looks like the A35K will really be the biggest plane of PAL. Hence, its time to look forward to 787s.

I think she is also referring to the leased GA 777s joining PAL this year and next.

RP-C9934 if flying again! Although its first flight originated from Perth. Was it stored there, or was it AOG there?

It seems the GA77 is PAL answer to UAs SFO flagship planes. Should be interesting to watch. Meanwhile, displaced triple seven are going sleepless...

Is it true that the GA planes going to PAL are PK-GID and PK-GIE? If so, these planes have first class cabins. Will they retain the same configuration, or will PAL change the seats?

Re: 5J Order

Evodesire
Speaking of 5J, its now somehow talk of the town about how 5J will be able to buy 100 to 150 planes worth 12B USD. Are they making that much money now???

Both have been reconfigured to C26Y367 back in 2017 when they were still with GA. A total of 393 seats but with a more comfortable 9 abreast layout in Y.

It sure does look better than both UA and PR.

After all, this is coming from a fleet of a 5 star airline.

Will 7776 exit the fleet this month in favor of those planes from GA?

The answer was already posted at page 82.

I heard the 1 ex-GA 777 is coming in late December to EIS by January. Which is right on time for when 7776 is returned to the lessor. The 2nd ex-GA is probably postponed for 2nd half next year.

If they don’t bring in both, it’s gonna be really awkward to have just one for scheduling purposes. One substitution and people can get offloaded from business class. If they had at least two, they could dedicate it solely to SFO to make profit with a smaller premium cabin to address potential premium overcapacity as well as have a competitive product to UA.

Surprised to read a lot of complaints online about SFO flight not having IFE...

a 16-hour flight with nothing to do... and paying thousands of dollars for it... tsk tsk tsk...

A lot of complaints as well for AU flights utilizing 81...

Re: Philippine Airlines

PR really need to replace their leased B77W still on those angled flat Recaros. Or if they are so worried about the lease contract then fly them to SYD/MEL or the Middle East.
Heard they have intermittent power issues on certain chairs, while UA is price matching on SFO-MNL @1300usd in J with their Polaris seats
Only the catering and staff are keeping PR as 4 star

Their J must at least be consistent, this cash saving behavior is too much, their taking advantage of their customers knowing CX is not really a threat.
What if DL comes back direct via SEA or LAX? They'll lose more market share.
They have an opportunity but are offering subpar product just looking at the TransPacific Y market thinking they will always be loyal rather than they have no choice.

Meanwhile 5J is even wet leasing from FB/LZB so they can offer DISCOUNTED fares!
A cash positive LCC spending on a wet lease because they can and they NEED to!
Positively Proactive!
