Re: Saipan & Palau Inaugurals

Guam is a US territory, thus the 1 prefix. Saipan is a little bit strange since Northern Mariana Islands are commonwealth of the US as well.

Unlike Guam which was part of the Philippines by reason of Spanish sovereignty, Saipan was part of Germany after the German-Spanish war in 1899, and Japan by 1914 to 1944. I think this was the reason why they are treated separately. Filipinos comprises 35% of Saipan population.

Palau used to be part of Micronesia under the old US bilateral. Since its independence in 1994, it ceases to be part of Micronesia. Previously, Guam, Saipan and Palau were Routes 1 of US Bilaterals until 1996.

T2 Expansion and T5 Construction

Solblanc
https://youtu.be/8tT_iFqYvME?si=CDJoA0C1PAaODRHq&t=417

This was posted yesterday. Not sure when it was taken. But by the looks of it, not a lot of progress on T2 expansion and T5 construction.

It's already May. No new terminal reassignment announcements. While T3 improvements are visible, we still don't see how they'll be able to transfer PAL and other FSCs there if there's no facility that can take on CebPac's domestic passenger volume.

Also, how is the new T4 at the old cargo terminal? Isn't it supposed to open next month?

I was at NAIA last month and also saw some recent T1 pictures a couple of weeks ago. T4 is far from finished and I would be surprised if it was open by the end of the year, let alone next month.

LTP new contract with NNIC was finally signed Monday. According to source it is substantially more than what they paid for previously but not what NNIC is asking them. Now lets wait for the news
